Project details:
FAM - Fight Against Malaria – was a project for making and distributing packages of medicine, containing not just medication for malaria but also medication for other common diseases (for instance: the common cold, angina, and coughs). Furthermore, it aimed to make sure that the mosquito nets, insecticides and mosquito coals that were distributed in the capital became accessible to those living in rural areas.
Education is imperative in preventing malaria and other diseases that affect the village. An agreement with local pharmacies to fill a box with medication every three months for at least a year was made.
Post-project comments:
It all went well and the villagers of Bara are very happy and grateful for this aid. Unfortunately, the rest of the team members were not able to join Taibatou in executing the project for personal reasons. However, first year UWCer’s from Niger kindly accepted Taibatou’s offer to help realize the project, and they are really happy to have participated in it.
What they said:
I would like to thank you on behalf of the team for trusting us and giving us the opportunity to help our community. This project has touched all of us.
